It's a love story...baby just say yes

Sorry for the cheesy Taylor Swift quote. I couldn't help myself.
But what Chris and I have is a true love story. It all started in high school when we met. I was in ninth grade, he was in tenth. We had a Spanish class together.  And we didn't really like each other. He thought I was annoying, I thought he was too quiet. He liked my (then) best friend, so I put them together. They seemed happy. They weren't. They broke up and Chris became just another guy I'd see in the hallway.
Fast forward to my junior year (he was a senior) and the three of us again had a class together. We had one of those bat crazy teachers who insisted on assigned seats, which she rearranged every two weeks. It was annoying, but looking back, it's what probably brought Chris and I closer together. No matter how the teacher rearranged the seats, Chris and I were always really close to one another. Ex-best friend was always on the other side of the room. So Chris and I naturally got closer and other girl was pushed to the wayside.
In April of that year, Chris asked me to prom. I was so happy. I thought I was going to have to go it alone until this really cute, super nice guy asked me. I said yes.
So we started talking more and more. I realized I liked him, and he realized he liked me in return. He eventually asked me to be his girlfriend. I made him sweat for two days before finally agreeing to go out with him. This made other girl mad. We didn't care.
We went to prom and it was a blast. We dated for another year before I broke up with him. We were both sad and miserable after that. We both dated people who were completely wrong for us, but we deep down still had a thing for each other. We fought it for that entire two-year span before Travis McCracken made Chris talk to me at a pool party. After the party, we went to Applebee's and began clearing things up.
About a month later, we went to a Power game (we're both avid baseball fans). They were losing terribly, so we left and went for a walk on the capitol grounds. When we sat down on a bench, I knew Chris had something on his mind. He told me he still loved me and he wanted to be with me more than anything. I told him I felt the same way, and viola, we were back together.
A month later, it was time for me to go back to school. I asked Chris to come with us to help me move back into the dorms. After all my junk was unpacked, we went with my family to a restaurant downtown. After we ate, Chris nervously asked my dad if he could marry me. Dad said he was fine with that, on the condition that we wait until after college. So we agreed. But I had no idea Chris would propose to me that night.
After my family left, Chris and I went back to my room to watch the Yankees/Red Sox game (Chris=Yanks, Me=Sox). He got upset because the Sox were beating the Yanks (Yay!) so he suggested we go for a walk. We strolled around campus for a few minutes before coming to a bench. We sat down and chatted for a while before the conversation turned serious. He had been hinting all day that he had a gift for me. When he asked if I was ready for my gift, I knew in my heart exactly what it was.
I immediately started crying. He got down on one knee, took my left hand and said, "Whitney, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, no matter how good or bad. Will you marry me?" Through my tears and giggles, I said yes and he gave me the most beautiful ring a girl could ask for.
